The PADI Equipment Specialist course, to familiarize divers with the
operation and maintenance of dive equipment. Because scuba diving is an equipment-
intensive activity, additional knowledge about gear helps divers better choose personal
equipment and understand how (and why) certain pieces of scuba equipment work.
